Richard Dawley has worked to improve understanding of the Amish and other Anabaptist groups. His quest has taken him throughout Wisconsin and into Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Canada. He has visited Switzerland, Germany, and France to see pivotal locations in the history of  Anabaptist groups, prior to their arrival in America.
